Pregnancy, Birth & Postpartum Support Services

Services

  • A minimum of 2 antenatal get togethers (maximum number your choice)
  • 24 hour on-call from 36 weeks until two weeks after the baby's birth
  • Unlimited use of library resources including: books, articles, CD’s and DVD’s about pregnancy, birth and parenting.
  • Access to my selection of baby carriers and assistance in choosing the right style carrier for you
  • Full support in labour (I may require rest breaks for health and safety reasons). Labour support can include: constant company, massage, aromatherapy, flower essences, regular offerings of food and drink, set up and maintenance of birth pool, nurturing your partner so that you feel free to focus on yourself, administration of heat or cold packs, wipes with cool face washer, pat dry with towel etc. For families planning a homebirth I am happy to entertain children should they require it during the birth of their new brother or sister.
  • 2 postnatal visits. During this time I will talk to you about how you are enjoying this transition period, see how your breastfeeding relationship is going, and suggest help if it is required. I will bring flower essences and food and am happy to lend a hand with housework or entertaining older children if you would like.
  • 1 birth story discussion/debrief at least 4 weeks after the birth
  • 1 year membership to the Australian Breastfeeding Association
  • Breastfeeding support
  • Birth Story from Doula's Perspective
  • Lotus birth/placenta care support if desired
  • Postpartum meals
  • Postpartum household chores
  • Postpartum activities for older children

Optional Extras:

Fees

International College of Spiritual Midwifery provides their graduates with a fee schedual which gradually increases with the individual doula's experience. Based on this structure I presently charge $450 for all of the above services. For more about ICSMs fee structure click here.

***Discount for homebirths***
If you're planning a midwife attended homebirth I will deduct $100 from the above fee. This is because I understand that the cost of homebirth falls on the birthing couple's shoulders due to a lack of government funding and support for homebirth.
