Caesarean Awareness 2008

Every year in September a day is set aside to raise awareness about the realities concerning caesarean section surgery and the impact these have on women who survive them. This year Joyous Birth (the Australian home birth network) has put together an incredibly moving collection of stories, poems and photos by survivors of caesarean. Please take a moment to glimpse into these women's experiences and be forever changed by their perspectives:

My dear friend April is one of the survivors who shares her story. And at the end of the page are a couple of photos of her and Sunny from their freebirth last week, to show readers how normal and beautiful birth after a caesarean can be.

A really great conscious raising effort, JB women, well done!
