Rixa has published an absolutely fascinating piece she wrote during one of her exams about the link between environmentalism and midwifery and industrialised farming and industrialised childbirth. You can read it here:
What I found particularly interesting about her post was the parallel she drew (inspired by the work of Michel Odent) between man's desire to control nature and assume technological control will yield greater results than allowing nature to run its natural course. Evidence later confirms that the opposite is true and interfering with nature leads to a cascade of further interventions to try and right the man-made wrong.
