1 Year On

It has been a year since thousands of women, men and children put their lives on hold and travelled from all over Australia to gather at Parliament House and protest the then popular Labour Government's proposal to end independent midwifery. A year later things have gone from bad to worse for homebirthers, with new legislation that has taken independence and autonomy out of the hands of birthing women and their midwives and given it to doctors and the anti-hombirth/anti-woman obstetric power brokers. On the plus side the Labour Government is far from popular and the nation still waits to find out which party has been elected by the people.
