Women & Midwives Taking Yet Another Stand

The latest step backward Australian homebirth has been subjected to comes courtesy of the Australian College of Midwives who have come out in support of The Government's medical veto plan (for more see "Medical veto, what can we do about it?" and "Will the Queen sacrifice the Pawns?"). Indpendent midwife Lisa Barrett writes:

"With all the discussion and arguments over determination I think we need to finally say we will not comply. Women and midwives standing together as we did on that wet day in Canberra. All our differences set aside, to put our money where our mouth is."
